Thomas was born in 1780 in Cockayne Hatley and his baptism took place there on September 17th, 1780.  Thomas' father was Thomas WAGSTAFF and his mother was Sarah ALLEN.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas WAGSTAFF and Elizabeth SEARE. He had four sisters named Mary, Patty, Peggy and Ann.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 72 in 1852 in Arrington.
