Edith was born on September 16th, 1876 in Huddersfield.  Edith's father was Edwin SWALLOW and her mother was Martha Ann HEYWOOD.  Her paternal grandparents were John SWALLOW and Margaret FIRTH. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Percy, Agnes, Lizzie, Florence and Amy.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 6 in 1882 in Huddersfield.
