Mary was born in 1791 in Stoughton and her baptism took place there on July 31st, 1791.  Mary's father was George PETT and her mother was Mary SMITH. She had four brothers and six sisters, named George, James, William, John, Elizabeth, Pheobe, Jane, Lucy, Hannah and Ann.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children.
