Thomas was born on May 23rd, 1714 in Glemsford.  Thomas' father was Samuel MORTLOCK and his mother was Martha HOWARD.  His paternal grandparents were John MORTLOCK and Elizabeth. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Richard, Matthias, Robert, Thomas, Hannah and Mary.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 25 on July 12th, 1739 in Glemsford.
