Richard was born on February 11th, 1696 in Glemsford.  Richard's father was John MORTLOCK and his mother was Elizabeth TIFFEN.  His paternal grandparents were John MORTLOCK and Elizabeth. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Peter and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 74 on September 4th, 1770 in Boxted.
