Oscar Willie LONG

Oscar was born on February 16th, 1893 in Cockfield and his baptism took place there on April 30th, 1893. Oscar's father was John LONG and his mother was Anna EVERETT. His paternal grandparents were Henry LONG and Emma WOODGATE. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Arthur, Bertie, William, Albert, Maurice, Sarah and Elsie. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 25 on December 13th, 1918 in Hurley.

- From the obituary column of the Bury Free Press of 20 Dec 1919:-
  
  "Private Oscar Willie Long died at Hurley, Warks. on 13.12.18. Third son of Mr and Mrs Long of Crobrook Cottages. Age 25 from family."
