Nellie was born on March 25th, 1908 in Whitley.  Nellie's father was James Henry LAWRENCE and her mother was Edith Rose COX.  Her maternal grandparents were Edward COX and Ann WHEELER. She had six brothers and a sister, named James, Arthur, Sydney, Albert, Charles, Walter and Edith.  She was the seventh oldest of the eight children. She had a half-sister named Edith.  She died at the age of 69 in 1977 in Reading.
