Ellen was born in 1880 in Luton.  Ellen's father was James IMPEY and her mother was Sarah.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas IMPEY and Mary Ann TOBBERTH. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Annie, Ada and Helen.
