Manuel was born on December 12th, 1868 in Gibraltar and his baptism took place on December 25th, 1868 at St Mary the Crowned.  Manuel's father was Salvador GARCIA and his mother was Leonor Sebastiana ENRIGO.  His paternal grandparents were Fransisco GARCIA and Juana MAESTRE; his maternal grandparents were Pascual Mario ENRIGO and Teresa OLIVERA. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Joseph, Salvador, Teresa, Juana, Leonor, Encarnacion, Elisa and Magdalena.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
