Benjamin GALLANT

Benjamin was born on November 4th, 1887 in Great Waldingfield and his baptism took place there on January 8th, 1888.

Benjamin's father was Joshua BOWERS and his mother was Anna Maria BIRD. His paternal grandparents were Peter BOWERS and Mary NICHOLSON; his maternal grandparents were George BIRD and Elizabeth RANSON. He had four brothers named Peter, Bowers, Harry and George. He was the youngest of the five children. He had seven half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Henry, Benjamin, Phillip, Robert, Walter, Samuel, Walter, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Ruth, Elizabeth, Mary and Meannah. He died as a war casualty, He was a Lance Corp.Sfk.Reg.1st B, at the age of 27 on May 8th, 1915 in Frezenburg Ridge, Ypres.

- From 1914 Benjamin's occupation was Lance Corporal full time in public administration for Suffolk Regiment, in France. He died in 1915 while still employed there.
