Lottie was born in 1896 in Portsmouth.  Lottie's father was Charles Walter FOSTER and her mother was Ellen MAYNE.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles W FOSTER and Elizabeth Frances PEARSON; her maternal grandparents were George MAYNE and Unknown. She had two brothers and a sister, named Ernest, Albert and Lillian.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
