Thomas was born in 1849 in Kintbury.  Thomas' father was John FISHER and his mother was Phoebe BENNETT. He had three brothers and five sisters, named George, William, Arthur, Sarah, Elizabeth, Caroline, Ellen and Emma.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.
