Walter was born in 1848 in Edwardstone and his christening took place there on August 13th, 1848.  Walter's father was Robert DEATH and his mother was Elizabeth EVERETT.  His paternal grandparents were Robert DEATH and Jemima SMITH. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Alfred, George, David, Susannah and Kate.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
