Charles was born in 1815 in Beech Hill.  Charles' father was William COX and his mother was Hannah BATES.  His paternal grandparents were John COX and Elizabeth GRANTHAM. He had six brothers and a sister, named Wiiliam, Robert, Henry, Thomas, George, George and Lydia.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 67 in December 1882 in Beech Hill.  The funeral took place on December 19th, 1882 in Beech Hill.
