William was born in 1652 in Thorpe Morieux and his baptism took place there on June 4th, 1652.  William's father was William BIXBY and his mother was Margaret.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas BIXBY and Alice ROOKE. He had a brother and three sisters, named Thomas, Margaret, Mary and Anne.  He was the oldest of the five children.
