Mary was born in 1755 in Felsham and her christening took place there on October 7th, 1755.  Mary's father was Jeremiah BIXBY and her mother was Ann CAWSTON.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas BIXBY and Frances KERRINGTON. She had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John, Jeremiah and Ann.  She was the youngest of the five children.
