John was born in 1689 in Felsham and his baptism took place on March 21st, 1689 at Felsham Parish Church.  John's father was Thomas BIXBY and his mother was Frances KERRINGTON.  His paternal grandparents were William BIXBY and Margaret; his maternal grandparents were John KERRINGTON and Elizabeth. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Robert, William, Jeremiah, Mary, Ann and Sarah.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 88 in 1777.  The funeral took place on January 25th, 1777.
