John was born in 1743 in Felsham and his christening took place there on April 14th, 1743.  John's father was Jeremiah BIXBY and his mother was Ann CAWSTON.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas BIXBY and Frances KERRINGTON. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Jeremiah, Ann and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 40 in 1783 in Felsham.  The funeral took place on September 17th, 1783 in Felsham.
