Jeremiah was born in 1746 in Felsham and his christening took place there on January 15th, 1761.  Jeremiah's father was Jeremiah BIXBY and his mother was Ann CAWSTON.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas BIXBY and Frances KERRINGTON. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, Ann and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the five children.
