Samuel was born in 1616 in Claydon and his christening took place there on November 19th, 1616.  Samuel's father was Edmund BIRD and his mother was Priscilla HOWELL.  His maternal grandparents were Richard HOWELL and Agnes. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Edmund, James, Ann and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Edmund, Richard, Robert and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 14 in September 1630 in Claydon.  The funeral took place on September 8th, 1630 in Claydon.
