John was born in 1621 in Claydon and his baptism took place there on October 25th, 1621.  John's father was Edmund BIRD and his mother was Priscilla HOWELL.  His maternal grandparents were Richard HOWELL and Agnes. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Edmund, James, Ann and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Edmund, Richard, Robert and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 5 on November 15th, 1626 in Claydon.
