John was born in 1753 in Thorpe Morieux and his christening took place there on July 28th, 1753.  John's father was Samuel BIRD and his mother was Elizabeth BOORE.  His paternal grandparents were Edmund BIRD and Sarah SEAGRAVE; his maternal grandparents were John BOORE and Elizabeth. He had four brothers named Samuel, Edmund, James and George.  He was the fourth oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Sarah.  He died at the age of 78 in June 1831 in Thorpe Morieux.  The funeral took place on June 13th, 1831 in Thorpe Morieux.
