    In the name of God Amen; the fourteane daye
    of November in the year of our lorde God one
    thousand six hundred twenty and seaven. I Edmund Berde of
    Claydon in the county of Suff, Collermaker being sicke
    in body but whole in minde & of perfect memory thankes
    be God therfore do ordeine & make this my last will
    & testament in manner & forme following: First I give
    my soule into the hands of the Almighty God my most
    blessed creator Redemer & sanctifyer, and my body unto
    Christian buriall in assured [of - crossed out] hope of the ressurection
    theroof unto eternall glory on the last daye by my
    blessed saviour Joyful Christ The portion of temporal
    goods which it hath pleased God to lende unto me
    I give & bequeath as followeth: Itm I give and bequeath
    unto my well loved wife Priscilla that my tenement
    & hayle wherein I nowe dwell with the orchard barne
    all other appurtenaces thereunto belonging ~ ~
    during the time of her naturall life towards the bringing
    up of my children, & after the decease of my said
    (will - crossed out)wife I will & my meaning is that the church
    wardens of Claydon for the time (then) being shall make sale
    of my said tenement & house wife, all other the ~~
    appurtenances thereunto belonging (& that the money)
    (which) to the best advantage they may, & that the mony
    (for) thereoof arising shall be divided by equall portions
    amonge my children Richard Berde, Samuell Berde,
    Edmund Berde, James Berde, Anne Berde & Mary
    Berde or soe many of them as shall then be living.
    Itm I give unto my said wife all other my goodes
    chattels, cattell household stuffe, mony plate, corne
    & all other my goods whatsoever with the use of my
    said wife the paying my debts & discharging my
    funerall expenses. And I doe ordein my said wife
    sole Executrix of this my last will & Testament. Lastly
    I doe acknowledge this to be my last will & testament
    In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hande
    & seale the day & yeare first above written: has
    Redde sealed & acknowledged
    as his last will & testament in
