Joseph was born in 1808 in Beech Hill.  Joseph's father was William APPLETON and his mother was Lucy KEEP.  His paternal grandparents were Unknown and Mary; his maternal grandparents were William KEEP and Lydia.  He was an only child.  He died due to natural causes or old age, Senile Decay, at the age of 80 on March 26th, 1888 in Beech Hill.  The funeral took place on March 31st, 1888 in Beech Hill.
