- Unlikely as it appears at first, the first marriage of "Daniel Pickles" matches the birth certificate of the first child to "Dineley" Pickles. Mention of his father as Dyer is disappointing, though if the vicar misheard the groom's name he could also have misheard the father's occupation.
The witnesses, was the Sexton at the Bradford Parish Church and William Holmes appears on other unrelated marriage certificates around that time, so they were presumably the stand-in witnesses if the couple couldn't provide their own.
