May was born on April 2nd, 1922 in Chorlton.1  May's father was Archibald (Archie) Pickin Wright and her mother was Janet Wright. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Albert, John, Edie and Hilda.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 10 on December 26th, 1932.1
