Charles' father was Charles Harrison Richardson and his mother was Mary Ann Johnson. His paternal grandparents were Robert Buchan Richardson and Catherine Harrison. He had a brother and a sister, named Charles and Florence. He was the youngest of the three children. He died as an infant in December 1888 in Manchester.¹
