Michael was born about 1752 and his christening took place on October 15th, 1752 in Keighley.1  Michael's father was Thomas Pighels and his mother was Hannah Wright. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Eunice and Rachel.  He was the second oldest of the five children.
