Caroline Pickles

Caroline was born about 1833 in Bingley and her christening took place there on August 25th, 1833.¹²

  This is probably an error, and should read Caroline. No other records can be found for a Carolina.
  
  1861 census records place of birth as Morley (should be Marley), Bingley Parish, Yorkshire, England.

Caroline's father was Thomas Pickles and her mother was Mary Pickles. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Pickles and Mary Walsh. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, William, Robert, Edward, Whitley, Dinley, Margaret, Mary, Sarah and Alice. She died in June 1904 in Keighley.³

General Notes
- Name spelled Carolina on familysearch.org and Carroline on 1841 census, when living with parents. Probably, correct name is Caroline.
  
  Living with brother Robert Pickles and family in 1851, which implies that her parents had died by then.
  
  Married William Medley, 15/1/1859 (but age 30 on marriage certificate, when should have been 36 and only 32 on 1861 census). It appears that this young lady lied about her age to make herself 6y older, as she had an older husband. By 1881, her true age had returned to the census records.
  
  Zilpha lived with, and cared for her mother at Crossflats untill Caroline died in 1904.
