Ernest was born in June 1900 in Burnley.1  Ernest's father was James Thomas Pearson and his mother was Elizabeth Ann Walton.  His maternal grandparents were James Walton and Jane Knowles Barrow. He had two brothers named William and Kenneth.  He was the oldest of the three known children.  He died at the age of 25 in December 1925 in Burnley.2
