Janet was born on December 24th, 1838 in Liverpool and her christening took place there on February 10th, 1839.1  Janet's father was Craigie Marwick and her mother was Isabelle Bolerich. She had a brother named Robert.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, Hugh, Elizabeth and Sarah.  She died at the age of 1 in March 1840 in West Derby.2
