Rachel was born in 1737 in Bolton and her christening took place on August 7th, 1737 in Darwen.1  Rachel's father was John Lomax and her mother was Ellen Cross. She had four brothers and a sister, named Robert, Robert, James, John and Betty.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
