Minnie's father was John Henry Liddicote and her mother was Lavinia Guest. Her maternal grandparents were Guest Guest and Martha Ann Eckersley. She had two brothers and six sisters, named John, Ernest, Emily, Ethel, May, Edith, Eliza and Mary. She was the third youngest of the nine children.
