Ann was born in May 1739 in Darwen and her baptism took place on May 27th, 1739 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Blackburn).1  Ann's father was Edmund Howarth and her mother was Ellen. She had a brother and two sisters, named Edward, Jane and MaryAnn and Mary were twins. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Isaac and Alice.  She died at the age of 47 in May 1786 in Turton.  She was buried on May 27th, 1786 at Turton Chapel.2
