HEADSTONE - Richard & Elizabeth Brereton
Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born in 1772 in Leyland and her christening took place on May 20th, 1770 in Bunbury.1  Betty's father was Samuel Haywood and her mother was Alice Gregson.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Heywood and Elizabeth Smith; her maternal grandparents were Robert Gregson and Jane Gregson.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 63 on December 1st, 1835 in Harthill.  She was buried on December 6th, 1838 at All Saints, Harthill.2 1
