Henry's father was Thomas Hale and his mother was Anne Brereton. His maternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and Esther Eddowes. He had six brothers and four sisters, named George, Dave, Tom, Jack, Ted, Bill, Mary, Aggie, Annie and Flo. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died as an infant at 6 months old on July 14th, 1893 in Birkenhead. He was buried on July 17th, 1893 at the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens.¹²

  We know of Henry from the burial records of Richard and Esther Brereton. Baby Henry was buried with them in Grave 481, CoE section 2. Two other grandchildren of Richard and Esther Brereton were also biried in the same grave.
