Eunice's father was John (Jack) Hale and her mother was Alice Preece. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hale and Anne Brereton. She had two brothers and a sister, named George, Thomas and Minnie. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died as an infant about February 1922 in Birkenhead.²

- Eunice was an infant death (as birth and death registered in same quarter). It is also possible she was the daughter of George and Lillian (Mother's Maiden Surname is confirmed as Preece), but Alice is the more likely mother as births more evenly spaced apart.
