  • Mary may have been born in Barnsley, Yorkshire (see 1901 census), but earlier records suggest Droylsden.  Mary Ann, birth registered in Stockport is a good match, but she seems to have changed age as time progressed.
    
    If she had Walter before she married Henry, she may have been married twice, but is recorded as a spinster on the marriage certificate.
    
    The 1911 census shows Henry and Mary married for 36 years.
