Margaret was born in September 1877 in Liverpool.1  Margaret's father was Johann (Chris) Heinrich Christoph Dittmer and her mother was Katharina (Margaret) Margaretha Maria Heuer.  Her paternal grandparents were Christian Fredrich Dittmer and Maria Luise Bliesener. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named George, William or Will, Fred, Henry, Chris, John, Charles, James, Mary, Lizzie, Catherine and Evelyn.  She was the second oldest of the thirteen children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named George and Dorris.  She died at 6 months old in March 1878 in Liverpool.1
