Rachael was born in 1828 in Shropshire.1   Rachael's father was William Brown and her mother was Mary. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Edward, Thomas, Edwin, Eliza, Sarah and Emma.  She was the oldest of the eight known children.
