Robert was born in 1886 in Sharples.1   Robert's father was Charles Brooks and his mother was Ann (Anna) Price. He had six brothers named Joseph, James, John, Charles, George and William.  He was the youngest of the seven children. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named George, James, Robert, Samuel, Thomas, Ernest, Alice and Happy.
