Ann was born in 1808 in Bolton and her christening took place on March 9th, 1808 at St. Peters (Bolton).1  Ann's father was Thomas Bolton and her mother was Mary Ramsden.  Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Bolton and Alice. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Abraham, Elizabeth, Mary and Maria.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
