Abraham was born in 1813 in Bolton and his christening took place on January 3rd, 1813 at St. Peters (Bolton).1  Abraham's father was Thomas Bolton and his mother was Mary Ramsden.  His paternal grandparents were Isaac Bolton and Alice. He had a brother and four sisters, named Richard, Elizabeth, Ann, Mary and Maria.  He was the third youngest of the six children.
