George was born on June 7th, 1812 in Bolton and his christening took place on June 7th, 1812 in Deane.1  George's father was Joseph Allen and his mother was Sarah Carter.  His paternal grandparents were John Allen and Ellen Welsbey. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Benjamin, William, Joseph, John, George, Elizabeth, Sarah and Jane.  He was the eighth oldest of the ten children.  He died about 1814 in Bolton.
