Leah's father was Moisei Sakovsky and her mother was Esther Korakh (Sakovskaya).  Her maternal grandparents were Leib Korakh and Feiga-Malka Korakh.  She was the third of four children.  She had a brother and two sisters, named Benjamin, Rachil' and Ida.
