Catharina was born on November 30th, 1952. Catharina's father was Jan Herholdt van Rooyen and her mother is Susanna Johanna Mare. Her maternal grandfather is Louis Jacobus Nel Mare and her maternal grandmother was Isabella Elizabeth Martens.
