Leo VI's father is Basil I Konstantinos and his mother is Eudoxia Ingerina.  His paternal grandparents are Konstantinos Porphyrogenetis Mamikonian and Pancalo daughter Ashot IV.  He is the youngest of three children.  He has a brother and a sister, named Constantine Porphyrogenetis and Gregoria Porphyrogenitia.
