Mattathias Judas

Mattathias' father is Associates of Judas. His paternal grandfather is Judas ben Simon. He is an only child.

- MATTATHIAS mat-a-thi'-as (Mattathias). The persons of this name in the Apocrypha a re: (5) One of the three envoys sent by Nicanor to treat with Judasin 161 B C (2 Macc 14:19). No names of envoys are given in the account of 1 Macc7 :27.
