Olan  was born on September 5th, 1927.  Olan 's father was Ola George Dye and his mother was Mary Hannon.  His paternal grandparents were George Alexander Dye and Margaret Louise Wyatt.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 62 on December 15th, 1989.

Olan  and Margie were married.  They had three sons and three daughters, named David, Michael, Alan, Leslie, Shelia and Tracey.
