George was born on March 18th, 1861.  George's father was Dusosway George Dye and his mother was Mary  Ann McKinley.  His paternal grandparents were Dusoway Dye and Elizabeth Petty; his maternal grandmother was Catherine Ott. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Dusoway, William, Dennis, Henry, Priscilla, Mary, Elizabeth, Susan and Harrietta.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 87 on July 18th, 1948.

‌George and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on December 11th, 1884 in Reedy, WV.  They had seven sons and two daughters, named Roy, Asa, Garnett, Hobart, Ola, Cecil, Hollie, Prudence and Levada.
